Rachael Conwell qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1997. Initially working in mixed practice in Wales, she then completed a 3 year Residency in Equine Internal Medicine at the University of Liverpool and gained the RCVS Certificate in Equine Internal Medicine. After her specialist training, Rachael worked in first opinion and referral equine practices in Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire and Yorkshire.

After passing the European College specialist examinations, she was awarded the European Diploma in Equine Internal Medicine in 2010. She is one of the few European Specialists in Equine Internal Medicine in the North of England.

In 2007, keen to concentrate on her equine internal medicine interests and utilise her specialist training, Rachael established EquiMed Referrals Ltd. Based in North Yorkshire, she is routinely called upon to visit horses across northern UK.

For 10 years Rachael has also provided veterinary services for various horse trials, including Bramham, Chatsworth and Hartpury Three Day Events. She covered the 2010 Pony European Championships and the Olympic Test Event in 2011, and was a member of the volunteer veterinary team working at the Paralympics, London 2012.
